Summer Breeze

The summers in Texas are brutal and they seem to start earlier and earlier each year. I can't imagine living in a home without air conditioning, but having a unit that doesn't work properly is even worse. This happened to us last year, when we forgot to schedule our annual maintenance, and come spring time, our AC was non functional. We tried everything to get it fixed on our own, but finally had to call a technician. Because we had waited so long, they told us it would be a week before someone could come out and examine our unit! We will never let that happen again. We call AC repair in Fort Worth TX to perform maintenance on our unit before it gets too hot out and we run into a problem again!

The Plus Side of Propane

Many may not be aware of all of the uses of proprane, I certainly wasn't until I moved into a home in an area where natural gas was not readily available. I use propane in North Kingstown RI to heat my home and cook, and to power my home in the event of an emergency. It has been great so far, and the best part of it is, the propane tank is buried in my yard, as to not be an eye sore in my yard. The company I worked with was great. They worked with me every step of the way, from installation to service and repair. I would highly recommend their team!

A Common HVAC System Misconception

Keeping your HVAC in top shape is a year round task that requires continued maintenance, service, and the occasional repair. One of the most common misconceptions regarding you AC system is that you only need to call a professional when something is wrong. While it's not necessary to have your local Coral Springs FL AC service technician on speed dial, your system will greatly benefit from preventative and routine maintenance. Additionally, this will help you save on repair costs down the line!

Tips on Maintaining Your Heat Pump

A properly operating heat pump saves you money on your home's energy bill. Regular maintenance keeps your heat pump operating in peak performance. The U.S. Department of Energy states that the difference in power consumption between a maintained heat pump and a neglected unit can range from 10 to 25 percent.

Maintaining your heat pump consists of at-home care that you can do yourself, following the manufacturer's instructions and regular professional maintenance carried out by an HVAC service technician.

Filter Inspections -- Each month you should check your unit's filter. If it has a heavy buildup of dirt and debris, then it will require changing. A dirty filter reduces air flow through the heat pump's system and may cause the unit's compressor to fail.

Outdoor Unit Care -- Regularly check the outdoor unit to make sure it is clean. You can turn off the power to the unit and clean the fan of any dirt buildup. Keep the vegetation cleared away from the outside unit so it can receive maximum airflow.

Professional Maintenance -- At least once per year, you should have a professional HVAC service technician maintenance your heat pump. Some manufacturers suggest a twice a year professional maintenance schedule.

Contact your local Lusby MD heating contractor for more information on maintaining and servicing your heat pump.

A Reason for High Utility Bills

If you've recently gotten an unusually high electric bill in the mail, you may want to consider taking a look at your furnace. An increase in usage is a huge red flag that your furnace may need to be serviced. If it's been a while since you've had your heating system professionally looked at, consider contacting a local Fairfax VA heating professional to ensure that everything is working effectively!

Air Filter Problems

I recently realized that my air conditioning system did not seem to be working properly. I wasn't sure what could be wrong with it, since it had it installed only a few years ago. I contacted a local Bonita Springs FL air conditioning contractor to take a look. They explained that I just needed to replace the filter. Air filters should be checked and changed often to ensure everything is working properly!

A Cold Winter

The winters can vary in this area. Sometimes they're pretty mild, other times it seems like it snows for 3 months straight. Either way, we're far north enough that it's important that we have a good heating system working all throughout the season in order to stay comfortable in our home. When our heating stopped working this winter, even though it hasn't been too bad out, we knew that we shouldn't wait on getting it fixed. I called heating repair in New Providence NJ right away, and they came out pretty quickly to see what was going on. After an hour or two of work, the unit was fixed and our heat was back on! I was amazed at how quickly they worked and how fast I was able to schedule an appointment. It's nice to know that when things do break, there is a company that we can count on to make things right again.
