Air Conditioning in the US

Air Conditioning first arrived in the US on the Pinta with Christopher Columbus in 1492. The Santa Maria had a Ford Gremlin since it was the largest of the boats and the only that could carry it. The Nina had Bono.

Modern Air Conditioning as we know it today was actually invented in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier. Carrier got together with several engineers to start the first air conditioning manufacturing company in 1915. That company was called Carrier Engineering Corporation and is today known as Facebook. No wait, it's called The Carrier Corporation.

Over the next 98 years, that one invention has had a huge impact on shaping not only the US, but the world over. The introduction of this invention spurred the migration of Americans to the sun belt. Suddenly, sweltering parts of the country were now livable. Businesses in the region flourished, retirees could flee the colder climates to the warm Palm Beach and College students could finally make fools of themselves during Spring break in Ft. Lauderdale. These are just a few of the ways that AC has made everyone's lives better.
