How to Save Energy and Money This Cooling Season: Part 2

In our last post, we explained that some heat-generating objects in your home can interfere with your thermostat and ultimately cause your energy bills to spike. Our next tip, provided by an expert air conditioning contractor in Washington MD, is to check your filter once a month.

We know you've heard it before, but checking and replacing the air filter really is a necessary step for not only properly maintaining your air conditioner, but also for saving money on your monthly energy bill. Inspecting the filter once a month, especially if you have pets, will ensure you replace it in a timely manner. If you skip changing the air filter, the efficiency of your system will decrease, meaning you'll see a spike in your electricity bill, instead of the savings you were hoping for.
