Ductless Options

To take advantage of traditional central air, you need ductwork. But not all places that need to be cool have ducts. Maybe there was an addition on to the house where the ductwork wasn't extended. Or the home has radiant floor heat or hot water baseboards, so there are no ducts anywhere in the home. Perhaps you want to cool a sunroom so it can be usable in the summer. In these situations, a ductless split system is the perfect solution.

They call it a split system because it has two different parts. The outdoor part is the compressor and condenser. Indoors, there is an air handling unit that is mounted on a wall or ceiling. The two are connected by a conduit that houses the electric line, refrigerant tubing, suction tubing, and a condensate drain. The result is an extremely efficient system that is whisper quiet.
