Fall Maintenance Checklist

Every fall, people are getting ready for the winter and preparing their home. There are many things on their to-do lists, like adding weather-stripping and sealing cracks. Below is a checklist of what will need to be completed or looked at.

Things you can do yourself

1. Clear away any vegetation and debris from around an exterior heat pump unit.
2. Now is a good time to also shut down and inspect your air conditioner for damage.
3. Make sure no combustibles are near your heating system.
4. Ensure your registers are clear and no furniture is blocking them.
5. Replacing the water panel of the home humidifier will relieve dry air problems during the winter.
6. Replace the batteries in all the carbon monoxide detectors.

Keeping your heating system in shape is not a one-time event. In order to avoid major repairs, it is important to perform regular service and maintaining. If you have any questions or would like your system looked at, reach out to a Mayfield Heights OH heating service professional!
